Fox Kids old cartoon/serial?

When I was little I used to watch this cartoon on fox kids, only that it was made with real humans, and, I can't quite recall the name and I remember only short bits like, there was this teenage guy, and he had a dorky friend, and he had a bad big brother, and I remember this once, that they disappeared from the earth, but they were still there, like in another realm, and once, there were these dogs, and they wanted to eat him, and his friend could read the dogs mind and told him to run away cause he heard a dog saying that he was gonna eat that guy. Oh, and there was a girl he liked... I think o.O and once there was this weird scientist guy.. creepy._. ok now, with all this information, could anyone please tell me what was the name of this cartoon? thx.
