What do I do with hair after dreads?

I have dreadlocks now and they are about shoulder length but I want to cut them off after a while, maybe sooner than I thought because they are bugging me and I don't like a lot of maintenance. I know, I know I should have expected it. Please don't give me crap for that. I want to cut them off as soon as I have 2 or more inches grown out. What could a stylist do with that little of hair? I have a inverted triangle/heart shaped face. My hair is wavy when long, fairly curly when about bob-length. As I said before, I don't like to spend time on my hair. I was used to just showering and letting my hair air-dry but I don't know if that will work with uber short hair. Any advice helps!
