Why are there so many conflicting reports regarding the raid?

the raid i'm referring to,is the one where spec-ops/forces took down bin laden.first we were hearing it was 2 uh-60 black hawks,then it was 3 choppers,then it was 4 choppers. one report said obl was armed and resisted which led to his demise.but then i heard he was not armed.now i'm hearing conflicting reports in regards to where he was supposedly gunned down. apparently he may have been on the ground floor not the 2nd floor as previously thought. this is really confusing me.and it puzzles me too,simply because te operatives who carried out this mission are some of the world's most elite teams,with the most honed-in visual acuity.so how is it that these veteran battle hardened "WARRIORS" ,were unable to get their stories straight as to what actually happened? not to mention the fact that;weren't they wearing helmet-cams during the execution of this mission? this is frustrating!
